Keep your “Weiner” at Home

Posted by olemike on 06/06/2011

I don’t supposed we should be surprised at the problems Anthony Weiner (Congressman from New York) is having.  With the latest revelation that he has been sending  lewd pictures via Twitter, I think it is safe to say that his career is in the proverbial toilet.  He gets no sympathy from me.  It is unfortunate that we can’t seem to find national leaders with some minimal level of integrity when it comes to fidelity at home and some minimum level of moral character.  I realize we all have flaws and make mistakes but how can we trust people to do the right thing in governing  if they lie to their family, spouse, constituents, etc.   If we as citizens do not demand that we expect a  little honor from our elected leaders, we will never get it.   Surely, somewhere, sometime, we can find someone who has both integrity and leadership skills.  If not, we are in trouble.

Clinton, Gingrich, Weiner, Ensign, Edwards, Livingston, Spitzer, Sanford, Craig, et. al.

Does personal behavior matter?  What say you?

  1. It’s so disheartening and yes, personal behavior matters! If you cheat and lie at home, you’ll cheat and lie at work. My faith in our representatives keeps getting lower and lower and lower.

I couldn’t agree more with what both of you said! Surely it’s not too much to ask for the people that represent this country to be trustworthy. It’s sickening to me!
