Losing the Education Wars

Posted by olemike on 12/09/2010

It is disheartening to read the results of the 2009 Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) for 15 year olds.  This study measures performance in math, reading, science, etc. in most of the countries of the world.  It is a pipe dream to think that the United States is near the top of the ratings.  In fact, we are a dismal 25th in Math, 12th in reading, and 20th in Science.  Other countries are eating our lunch.  We must do a better job of educating our youth.  Being good at video games or being fast at texting doesn’t do much for us when competing with others for economic success.  We must do better.
