Crimson Clover cover crop

Posted by olemike on 11/08/2010

I planted some Crimson Clover cover crop seeds in one of my raised beds a few days ago.  It is coming up quite nicely.  I will leave this bed unplanted through the winter in an attempt to replenish the nitrogen.

Great idea! When did you get to be such a knowledgeable gardener? We aren’t doing any winter crops and, in fact, have removed the 4 beds that we built last spring. We think we have enough space up near the house to do all the tomatoes we can eat, plus cucumbers, onions, etc. We just couldn’t keep the grass and weeds out of those beds.
